China: PetroChina Fushun Petchem to refine 4% less crude daily in Nov

PetroChina Fushun Petrochemical arranged to refine 620,000mt of crude in November, with daily consumption down 4% on month, according to a refinery source.

The refinery is scheduled to resume operation of a 1.5-mil-mt/yr residue fluid catalytic cracker end November, which was shut for maintenance on Oct 5, the source revealed.

Currently, the refinery's 3.5-mil-mt/yr crude distillate unit at No. 1 plant and 8-mil-mt/yr CDU at No.2 plant were in normal operation, but the former would be shut down for relocation at the end of this year due to foundation settlement, the source furthered.

As reported earlier, Fushun Petrochemical was slated to cut its monthly crude throughput to 650,000mt in the fourth quarter.

Fushun Petrochemical is one of the major refineries in Northeast China. It owns an annual topping capacity of 19-mil mt and an ethylene output capacity of 180,000mt per year. It consists of three plants, which mainly refine domestic crude from Daqing Oilfield and Liaohe Oilfield. It may probably not receive crude via the Sino-Russia Crude Pipeline in the future as it is more suitable to refine high-sulfur crude.
