The Chinese Ministry of Commerce decided to end investigations to impose anti-dumping duties on methanol exported to China by Saudi firms including our subsidiary, International Methanol Company, or IMC, Sipchem said.
IMC operates 1 million mt/year methanol facility at Al Jubail.
On October 25, China imposed anti-dumping duties of 9.3-37.5% on imports from Indonesia, Malaysia and New Zealand. The duties will be effective October 28, ending a probe that began in June 2009.
When it announced the duties, China said it would also end anti-dumping investigations into methanol imports from Saudi Arabia.
