p>Operating rates of major Chinese refineries averaged 85.82% on Sep 25, slightly up 0.43 percentage points from two weeks ago, a survey found.

During mid-September, Maoming Petrochemical raised its daily crude throughput to 40,000mt in consideration of tight gasoil supply in East China; Daqing Refining & Chemical and Jinxi Petrochemical were still in maintenances; the other refineries kept run rates unchanged.

The above figures were obtained through computation on the basis of primary refining capacities of refineries. If calculated on the basis of their complex refining ratio, the average run rate would be at about 91.95%, up about 1.12 percentage points from last survey.

The average operation rate is likely to further rise in October as those refineries in turnarounds resume operations.

A survey involves in 23 major refineries with a combined annual refining capacity of 281-mil mt.
