p>Deadline for "sunset review" of anti-dumping measures on Chinese shoes is counting down. Five Chinese shoe enterprises including Aokang are struggling for solutions to these measures.
A 16.5% anti-dumping duty would be levied on Chinese shoes enterprises for another 15 months if Chinese shoe manufacturers failed in the last defense of Sunset Review , said Aokang spokesman Wang Hailong.
On October 3rd, 2008, the European Union implemented anti-dumping measures on Chinese shoes although most of its member countries were opposed to these duties.
In 2006-2008, sales of China s leather shoes exported to Europe dropped by 20% due to the implementation of anti-dumping measures.
