According to Straits Exchange Foundation(SEF), Cross-Strait Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) came into effect on Sept 12th.
At the end of June, the ARATS (The Association for Relations across the Taiwan Straits) and the SEF signed this important agreement in Chongqing. Some polyurethane products such as DMF(H.S. 29241910), TDI(H.S. 29291010), THF(H.S. 29321100), PTMEG(H.S. 39072010) and PU foam syntactic leather(39211310) were involved in the agreement.
Besides, the agreement also said that tariff of PTMEG would be reduced to zero the same time next year as it was lower than 5% before the agreement becoming effective. Meanwhile, tariff of other products would lessen to 5% on Jan 1st, 2011 and to zero on Jan 1st, 2012.
With tariff concessions and exemptions, imports and exports sales of polyurethane products between both sides across the Straits would climb up in future.
Some analysts believe that, ECFA will reinforce the competition between the imports and homemade materials. As a result, domestic enterprises should win customers through low prices, high products qualities and good services.
