p>Brazil's Braskem was considering a $50/mt increase on polyethylene and polypropylene prices to the Andean region and Central America, a company source said Tuesday.

For the second half of August, Brazilian resin offers increased $100-150/mt on support by firm demand with converters building inventories for end of the year festivities.

The exception to this was LDPE, which would not be exported on the spot market.

"In the LDPE case, we must meet our contract obligation which means we won't have any product for spot selling," said the source.

If the offers go up $50/mt in September, Brazilian PP prices to the Andean countries and Central America would be at $1,550-1,600/mt CFR for homo raffia, film and injection and at $1,600-1,650/mt CFR for co-polymer.

Polyethylene offers after the $50/mt hike would be at $1,350-1,400/mt CFR for HDPE film, $1,340-1,390/mt CFR for HDPE injection and blowmolding and injection and at $1,800-1,850/mt CFR for LDPE film.
