"Demand is healthy now, but it is still too early to know if we are going to have another price increase for September since our last price hike happened on August 10. We are keeping an eye on the international offers coming to the country," said the source.
LDPE film was the resin with the biggest increase at 4%, and offers rose to 69-71 cents/lb FOB Mexico City bulk.
"In August we are going to have enough LDPE for the domestic market, but the material is scarce for exports market," added the source.
Prices for LLDPE butene and HDPE injection went up 2% this month. The LLDPE butene offer was at 55-57 cents/lb FOB Mexico City bulk and HDPE injection at 52-54 cents/lb FOB Mexico City bulk.
HDPE blowmolding offers were flat compared to July due to plenty of imported material coming into Mexico. HDPE blowmolding offer was at 51-53 cents/lb FOB Mexico City bulk.
