The global chemical company named Dr. Derek Crofton Supply Chain Director of its PU division in the Americas.
Dr. Crofton takes on the role after almost three decades of service with the corporation, bringing with him extensive experience gained in Europe, the U.S. and Latin America.
He replaces Mark Dearman, who has been appointed Operations Director at the company s Geismar plant in Louisiana and General Manager of Rubicon LLC.
Commenting on his appointment, Dr. Crofton said: Supply chain is an exciting place to be right now as the world s economies recover and we work to meet customers needs in a global market.
Dr. Crofton was more recently a director of Huntsman s PU business in South America and its thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) division in the Americas.
He is now responsible for all of the company s PU planning, logistics, blending and warehouse facilities across the Americas. In addition, he will continue to oversee PU activity in the key emerging markets of South America.
The company said in a statement that Dr. Crofton s in-depth knowledge of its polyurethanes business and his experience of global markets will help Huntsman leverage its capabilities and capacity across U.S. operations.
Based at offices in The Woodlands, Texas, Dr. Crofton will work closely with the team at Geismar.
