New York woman is suing Starbucks, saying her baby son was seriously injured when she dropped a cup of overly hot tea on him. In a complaint filed recently in Kings County, Villona Maryash said the scalding took place in a Starbucks in the Bensonhurst neighborhood in Brooklyn in October, the New York Post reported. She said her son, Arnold Glouchko, who was 5 months old at the time, was in his stroller when she picked up the tea and then dropped it because it was so hot.

Her lawyer, Martin Garfield, said Starbucks should have served the tea with insulation or on a tray.

The lawsuit is the second filed in a few weeks over Starbucks tea. A man sued in May, saying he was burned by hot tea at a Manhattan restaurant.

Good Earth Winery launches Antaraa
Good Earth Winery has added another wine to their collection with Antaraa. Antaraa, which means "verse" in Hindustani classical music, is a new twist on the classic blend of two varietals with deep roots in the Nasik Valley.

Like a duet, it is a subtle, seductive coupling of new Cabernet Sauvignon and oak-aged Shiraz. Listen carefully as the younger Cabernet weaves spirited riffs around the formal melodic structure provided by the more mature Shiraz We have "tuned" the blend just as you would a musical instrument. Subtle flavours of plum, blackcurrants and spice are held together by a backbone of soft tannins. Antaraa enhances various milder curries and both hard and soft cheeses. Experience the music of Antaraa with spicy pizzas and creamy pasta dishes.

Antaraa is a red wine that is particularly designed for the warm Indian climate. Serve it chilled, between 12 degrees C and 15 degrees C. Drink it year round, but especially in the monsoon.

UN Food panel sets new limits for melamine in food
GENEVA, SWITZERLAND: The U.N. food standards panel set new limits for the presence of melamine in food, baby formula and animal feed during its conference in Switzerland.

The maximum amount of toxic chemical allowed in baby formula was set at 1 milligram per kilogram, and 2.5 milligrams per kilogram of other food and animal feed, the World Health Organization and the Food and Agriculture Organization said in a joint statement. Melamine is a chemical used many industrial processes, including the manufacture of plastics used for dishes, kitchenware and can coatings. Traces of it ending up unavoidably in food don't cause health problems, but the substance is toxic at high concentrations, health officials said.

While not legally binding, the new levels give countries the authority to refuse to allow importation of products with high levels of melamine, the WHO and FAO said.

The U.N. Codex Alimentarius Commission, meeting in Geneva, also developed new hygienic measures for safer fresh salads and seafood, offering guidance in areas such as production, harvesting, packing, processing, storage, distribution, marketing and consumer education.

The commission also published specific advice on controlling bacteria in seafood throughout the food chain, which commission officials said will help to minimize risks. The Codex Alimentarius (Latin for "food code") Commission also adopted measures on sampling food for inspection and control analysis.
