China expresses concern after pirates hijack ship with Chinese sailors aboard

BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhua) -- China on Tuesday expressed concern after pirates hijacked a ship with 19 Chinese sailors aboard.
Qin Gang, a Foreign Ministry spokesman, told a regular news briefing China is assessing the situation and has began rescue work.
A Singapore-flagged cargo ship was hijacked Monday in the Gulf of Aden off the coast of Somalia.
The MV Golden Blessing, a petroleum and chemical tanker, was on its way to India from Saudi Arabia when it was hijacked.
The shipowner said all 19 crew are reported to be safe.
