NYMEX look-alike over-the-counter coal prices fell Tuesday for the third
day running. Q4 2010 look-alike traded 65 cents below Monday's Platts
assessment, while calendar year 2011 traded 30 cents lower.

Meanwhile, Powder River Basin 8,800-Btu/lb physical prices firmed. July
8,800 traded five cents above Monday's Platts assessment, with traders
indicating that the interest was related to an increase in natural gas prices.

Sources said OTC coal prices, excluding PRB products, traded lower
throughout the session. Traders said that while offers slid as the close of
trading approached, volumes did not substantially increase in the back half of
the session.

September look-alike traded at $61.75/short ton for 15 barges, and then
again at the same price for ten barges. Q4 2010 traded at $62.50/st for five
barges twice. The Q4 deals were down 65 cents from Monday's Platts assessment.

The heaviest volume was in 2011 for a second consecutive day. Q1 2011
traded at $64/st for ten barges and at the same price for five barges. The Q1
2011 price was 75 cents below Monday's Platts assessment figure.

Q2 2011 traded seven times for a total of 35 barges. It traded at $66/st
for five barges five times and at $65.75 for five barges twice.

Volumes in later dated 2011 contracts remained solid. Q3 2011 traded
three times at $67.75, each time for five barges. Q4 2011 traded three times
at $70.60/st for five barges. Full year CY 2011 traded at $67.25/st for five
barges, down 30 cents from Monday's Platts assessment.

Meanwhile, July PRB 8,800 traded at $12.60/st for two trains. That price
was five cents above Platts' Monday assessment and a trade on Monday.

There were no reports of physical CSX rail-delivered 12,500-Btu/lb, or
PRB 8,400 Btu/lb coal.

In the paper market, CSX financial swaps traded three times. Front-half
2011 traded twice at $67/st for 5,000 st and then at the same price for 10,000
st. The back half of 2011 traded at $69.75/st for 10,000 st. There were no
reports of PRB 8,800 paper trades on Monday.
