On June 19, 2009, under the help of Pacific Power Development (NZ) Ltd., a contract of supplying 20 diesel-electric locomotives to New Zealand was signed between CNR LORIC Import & Export Corp., Ltd., and Kiwirail, New Zealand. The manufacturer is CNR Dalian Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd.
The horsepower is 2,700 kW. The truck gauge is 1,068 mm and the Max. speed is 106 km/h. Six loco. will be delivered on May 19, 2010 and another fourteen loco. will be delivered on August 19, 2010.
