On June 30, 2009, a contract of supplying 30 electric multiple units (EMU) trains to Brazil (Central 120EMUs) was signed between Rio de Janeiro and CNR. The contract is worth 1.2 billion yuan.
The trains with light- weight stainless steel car-body will be put into use next year to improve the public transportation system between downturn Rio de Janeiro and the suburbs. The Line voltage is 3,000V. The truck gauge is1,600 mm and the Max. speed is 100 km/h. The life time is 40 years.
