5 CSR locomotives & 22 carriages exported to Guinea

Qishuyan and Puzhen join hands, Guinean ambassador attends ceremony

Recently, the 5 locomotives and 22 carriages, manufactured by CSR Qishuyan Locomotive Co., Ltd. and CSR Nanjing Puzhen Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. respectively, were rolled out and shipped to Guinea. On April 24, the grand ceremony for locomotive and carriage shipment was held at the port of Jungonglu Branch of ShanghaiInternationalPort Group Co., Ltd. SIPG. Diare Mamady, Guinean ambassador to China; Guinean counselor to China; Guinean first secretary to China; Wang Qingfang, general manager of the Railway Department of China International Fund Limited CIFL; Xu Jingchang, senior advisor to the Railway Department of CIFL; Wang Weiping, deputy general manager of CSR Qishuyan; Li Dingnan, deputy general manager of CSR Puzhen; and Ren Shenghua, general manager of SIPG Jungonglu Branch attended the ceremony and cut ribbons for the ceremony. Xie Lijian, deputy general manager of Sino-Freight International Logistics Co., Ltd., presided over the ceremony.

In recent years, CSR, with an international vision, has attached great importance to overseas development, and has successfully exported products to over 40 countries and regions. As a major subsidiary of CSR, while providing large-power diesel locomotives for the speedup of Chinese railways over the years, Qishuyan relied on the strong superiority in diesel locomotive R & D and manufacture and seized the great opportunity of the recovery of the international market. On the one hand, it deepened cooperation with GE, established a joint venture through introduction and assimilation and built a technical platform for R & D and manufacture; on the other hand, it initiatively blended into the great tide of international competition, kept to the strategy of going global and made new progress in overseas development. After having exported vehicles to Cambodia, Venezuela, Iran, etc., it won orders from Saudi Arab and Argentina and undertook locomotive development from Guinea last October, marking a new breakthrough in African development. Qishuyan elaborately organized a project team to advance the locomotive project perfectly, and the company s scientific and technological staff solicited opinions and requirements from the customer and optimized the design plan on the basis of giving full consideration to the transportation environment and line characteristics of Guinea. The cadres and staff established the concept of market first and brand foremost, fulfilled technical preparations, technological improvements and manufacturing work in an all-round manner, the managers at all levels strictly followed lean management and real-name system, tightened the control of working procedures and delivered quality locomotives punctually.

CSR Puzhen relied on the superiority in rail vehicle R & D to cement international cooperation and intensify international development. It has joined hands with international companies like Alston, Bombardier and Siemens to advance the work of introduction, assimilation and renovation, has made encouraging achievements in international development, and has won orders from countries and regions like Georgia, Hong Kong and Tunisia. After the conclusion of the contract for exporting 19 hard seat carriages and 3 generating carriages to Guinea, Puzhen advanced the project perfectly through elaborate organization and arrangement, and the cadres and staff established the concept of quality in my heart, market in my hands , made technical preparations and technological improvements in an all-round manner, comprehensively practiced lean manufacture and delivered quality products punctually.

Mamady expressed great satisfaction with the cooperation with CIFL, CSR and SIPG in the impromptu address, spoke highly of CSR s high level of locomotive and carriage design and manufacture and hoped to expand cooperation in the future. At last, he suggested that all the attendees pay a one-minute silent tribute to the victims of Yushu earthquake.
