CSR wins bid for 83 Qinghai-Tibet railway carriages

For Shanghai-Lhasa travel as Expo vehicles

On April 28, CSR Puzhen won the bid for 83 railway carriages to travel on Qinghai-Tibet line. These vehicles, designated for the Shanghai World Expo, will run between Shanghai and Lhasa as sightseeing trains. According to the contract, these vehicles is scheduled to be delivered in late May and operated on July 1.

With a designed speed of 160km/h, Qinghai-Tibet railway carriages will run between Shanghai and Lhasa as sightseeing vehicles. As these vehicles will soon be used on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau known as third pole in the world, they should be able to withstand severe climatic conditions specific to highlands such as low air pressure, strong UV, much sand, much thunder and lightning and tundra. At the same time, they have strict requirements for body sealability, interior decoration, oxygen generation, winter protection, sand protection, electric performance, etc.

To ensure high quality, CSR Puzhen will use advanced and mature modularization technology to build the Qinghai-Tibet railway carriage project into a fine project, accomplish the overall upgrading of interior decoration and overall electric modularization and fully demonstrate the enterprise s profile by sightseeing during the World Expo.
