On March 31 in the flourishing spring of Hunan, 25 media groups from Guangdong such as Guangzhou Daily, Yangcheng Evening News, Southern Metropolis Daily, New Express Daily, Guangdong TV Station, Guangzhou TV Station, Pearl Radio and Radio Guangdong walked in CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. and the birthplace of Asian Games Subway to visit the development base of China s highest-end metro vehicles.


Witnessing metro vehicle manufacturing base up to European standards

The journalists were shocked by the scale of the company s modern mass transit industry base up to European standards when they walked in the mass transit manufacturing base of CSR Zhuzhou. Hu Liebing, general manager of the Mass Transit Department of CSR Zhuzhou, enthusiastically introduced the company s mass transit manufacturing resources, saying that the company s mass transit manufacturing resources were of the highest level in the world, the 80,000-square-meter plants were fully air-conditioned, and travelling cranes were replaced by air cushion vehicles to hoist articles for the first time at home. Last year, the company won the international IRIS certificate for high-end railways, marking that the company s products had been up to the most rigorous European standards for quality.


Kong Qingchao, program director of the Subway Channel of Guangdong TV Station, told the reporter that the Asian Games was scheduled to be held in Guangzhou this November, Guangzhou Subway Line 3 had attracted wide attention from the local citizens as a major means of transportation for the Games, and the media groups visited to uncover how the fastest metro vehicles of China were worked out.

Experiencing Line 3 vehicles first

Line 3 vehicles! Seeing the vehicles for Guangzhou Subway Line 3 to be delivered in the static debugging shop, the journalists could not wait to experience the new vehicles first. In the carriages, the journalists were suddenly impressed by the spaciousness and grandness of the new vehicles, and the bright and clean windows, cozy seats, elegant patterned armrests and thorough type carriage design attracted many journalists for group photos.

She could not restraint her excitement and told the reporter that they loved CSR Zhuzhou and its metro vehicles so much. When the vehicles arrived in Guangzhou two weeks ago, our journalists had experienced them first, and I was also the first to experience at CSR Zhuzhou today. We agreed that the metro vehicles manufactured by Zhuzhou were better than those running on other lines, which are stable, cozy, low-noise, bright and not dazzling, particularly, the matte-patterned stainless steel armrests were of high grade.


Huang Zhouhui of Yangcheng Evening News, who had experienced the metro vehicles in Beijing, Hong Kong and Russia, said, The metro vehicles for Guangzhou Subway Line 28 and 3 are most cozy and beautiful.

Dialogues with corporate technical experts

With the common concerns of citizens in Guangzhou such as How will Line 3 vehicles satisfy the large transportation capacity during the Asian Games? Will all vehicles be delivered on schedule before the Asian Games? and What technical advancement do Line 3 vehicles have? the journalists had dialogues with Yang Ying, deputy chief engineer of CSR Zhuzhou; Lin Wenjun, technical supervisor of Line 3 project; and Wang Jinsheng, person in charge of the production organization of the subway project in Guangzhou.

According to Yang, with the highest speed of 120km/h among domestic subway vehicles, Line 3 vehicles were hailed as Ferrari by industry insiders. In light of the actuality of vehicle operation, we lengthened the vehicles from three-carriage marshalling to six-carriage marshalling, which will effectively alleviate the operation pressure during the Asian Games. In vehicle design, we made independent innovation constantly on the basis of the mature technology that we had mastered, such as importing low-carbon energy-conserving technology and reducing the weight of every carriage by 800kg over 5t in total to save 60,000kwh a year. Besides, on the basis of the operation facts of Line 3, we constantly optimized the ventilating system, sealing performance, sitting comfort and passenger convenience to adapt the vehicles to need of the Asian Games for green, cozy, fast and economical transportation.

Wang Jinsheng, business manager of the Project Management Center of CSR Zhuzhou, answered the questions about the implementation and delivery of Line 3 project in an all-round manner, saying that the project was most highlighted by the short delivery period, normally, a subway project is operated for 16 to 18 months, to meet the operating need of the Asian Games, Line 3 project is required to be delivered in 13 months and a half. In such a situation, CSR Zhuzhou actively responded to market requirements, organized production scientifically, delivered six vehicles on March 25, was scheduled to deliver two before April 15 and tried to deliver 20 before September 5 to complete the overall delivery of the vehicles 25 to 30 days in advance of the contract period, thus fully ensuring the success of the Asian Games.

Yang Jinshen of Guangzhou Daily said emotionally that Line 3 facilitated the travel of the local citizens greatly after having been open to traffic, which not only increased the people s travel efficiency and diverted the ground traffic flow, but also caused great changes to Guangzhou s urban business pattern and the people s living way, it can be said that the opening of Line 3 changed the spatial concept of the local citizens and increased time value.
