First 500kV power transformers built in Shanghai

Three units of 500kV power transformers, made by ALSTOM Shanghai Transformer Co., Ltd. Were successfully installed and energized at Yang Gao substation of Shanghai. These are the first 500kV power transformers ever designed and manufactured in Shanghai. These transformers will be used to deal with the shortage of electricity of Shanghai this summer. The success of these transformers has strengthened Shanghai Electric s capability for designing ultra high voltage power transmission and distribution systems. ALSTOM Shanghai Transformer Co., Ltd.
