Shanghai Electric-Made Seawater Desalting Equipment Shipped Successfully

Seawater desalting equipment of Hebei Huangye Power Plant Phase-II project made by Shanghai Electric Power Generation Group was successfully shipped in Shangfu on June 18. The shipment marks a zero breakthrough of Chinese-made 10,000-ton-level seawater desalting equipment manufacture and another major achievement of the Electric Power Generation Group in cultivation and development of new industries.
Seawater desalting equipment of Hebei Huangye Power Plant Phase-II project is the first set of seawater desalting equipment undertaken by the Electric Power Generation Group, manufacturing main equipment evaporator and condenser. The project produces 12,000 tons of low-temperature multiple-effect seawater desalting equipment per day, and is affiliated to Huangye Power Plant Phase-II project. The equipment boasts total length of 86 meters and overall weight of 660 tons, utilizing steam turbine of the power plant to extract steam to heat the seawater to produce fresh water as feed water to boilers, water for other industrial purposes and domestic drinking water. Seawater desalination is developing in mainstream directions such as scalization, energy saving and environmental protection and electricity-water cogeneration.
