On October 28, good news came from Asian Electric Power Commendation Meeting held in Singapore, reporting that Beijing Zheng Changzhang Gas-fired Thermoelectricity Project had won the gold medal of 2008 Best Thermoelectricity Project in Asian, of which Shanghai Electric Station Group was the general contractor. Asian Electric Power Award is a Year Award established by the world-famous magazine Asian Electric Power with the purpose of rewarding those electric power plants, manufacturers and organizers who commit themselves to the development of electric power in Asian area and make outstanding contributions.
As a key project of 2008 Olympic Games, the combined cycle generating unit (CCGU) of Zheng Changzhang Gas-fired Thermoelectricity Project completed the important tasks of safe power transmission and guarding relying on its excellent performance of High efficiency, Energy-saving and Pro-environment, which allowed it stood out among lots of generating units of the same type and won the first prize.
The 2 254MW gas-stream-fired combined cycle thermoelectricity co-generating unit of Zheng Changzhang Power Plant is the first general contracting project that is managed and operated independently by Shanghai Electric Group (SEG) regarding gas-stream-fired combined cycle equipment. The turbine is the classic model of Siemens V94.2 gas turbine while the air-cooled generator and extraction condensing turbine is product developed and put into practice by the Electric Station Group itself for the first time. With short construction circle, stable operation, high efficiency, low noise and less pollution, each performance of the unit has reached international level among the similar units.
