F Level IGCC Technology Presented in Beijing

On the morning of October 29, F Level IGCC Technology Presentation Conference of Shanghai Electric Group (SEG)-Siemens is held in Beijing. The vice-president of Shanghai Electric Group (SEG) and president of Shanghai Electric Station Group - Mr. Zheng Jianhua, CEO of Siemens Thermoelectricity Generation Group- Jesus, and CEO of Siemens China Thermoelectricity Generation Group- Kabo addressed the conference respectively. As early as 2002 when China implemented West-East Gas Transmission Project, Shanghai Electric Group (SEG) made clearly that they should focus on the development of gas turbine, proposing to establish a gas turbine production base that can provide full service for users. In December 2006, the research subject about Development & Planning of Shanghai Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle was listed on the Mountain Climbing Plan of Shanghai Science Committee. From 2007, Shanghai Electric Group (SEG) regarded IGCC as the center of their industry development, organizing relevant enterprises and departments to set up working teams in order to promote the preliminary work of IGCC.
Since 2005, Siemens has transferred all manufacturing technology on four components including compressor, turbine, combustion chamber and control software to Shanghai Electric Group (SEG) in succession; especially the transfer of manufacturing technology on first-class high-temperature turbine rotor and stator blades and that of control software technology makes Shanghai Electric Group (SEG) be the only enterprise that possesses all core manufacturing technologies of gas turbine in China. The comprehensive technology transfer by Siemens and enhancement of local manufacturing provide reliable assurance for localization of gas turbine from Shanghai Electric Group (SEG); it is expected that 100% of gas turbines from Shanghai Electric Group (SEG) will be home-made by the end of 2010 and by then the Group will have an annual production capacity of 24 36 gas turbines, supplying complete gas turbine both to Chinese and foreign markets and being one of the leading gas turbine manufacturing bases in the world.
