ZTE successfully completed global telecom-level Ethernet interoperability test of EANTC

Write: Kalare [2011-05-20]

The telecom-level Ethernet interoperability test, which is organized by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC), just opened at Carrier Ethernet World Congress (CEWC) in Geneva, Switzerland. ZTE attends the T-MPLS demonstration and participates in all T-MPLS interoperability test items.

The success in this test indicates that T-MPLS technology can be used for the telecom-level Ethernet service, which will be helpful to T-MPLS standard drafting and project application. ZTE did well in this test and showed technical strength in T-MPLS.

EANTC, an authoritative network test center in Europe, has organized Carrier Ethernet interoperability tests at CEWC for the third time since 2005. 24 leading network equipment vendors, e.g., Alcatel-lucent, Cisco, Nortel, Nokia-siemens, Juniper, Ciena and Tellabs, participated in this test.

This test verifies the capability and quality of T-MPLS implementing telecom-level Ethernet data services in access, metro and core networks. ZTE s ZXMP S385 embedded with T-MPLS was successfully interconnected with the equipments from other vendors. Especially, ZXMP S385 ran very well in the 1:1 bidirectional path protection switching test of T-MPLS.

It is the first time that ZTE s multiservice transmission equipment embedded with T-MPLS participates in the telecom-level Ethernet interoperability test of EANTC. This test shows its good support and interoperability for T-MPLS. The manager of ZTE s optical transmission department said, In recent years ZTE is active in drafting packet transmission standard and providing more reliable multiservice solutions for carriers. Our multiservice transmission equipments have found application in some leading carriers and international carriers in many nations at present.
