Moscow Cellular Telecoms (MSS), a mobile provider, said it will cooperate with ZTE, a Chinese telecoms equipment supplier and mobile solutions provider, to introduce digital telecoms systems, service and digital network software development using IMT-MC-450 technology. MSS and ZTE will also cooperate in developing the technology for network and customer equipment for the IMT-My (1X) standard in the 450 MHz range, for operation in Russia.
MSS is currently implementing a program aimed at updating its current network and transmitting it to digital technology of 3G mobile telecoms. In December 2001 MSS was granted a permit to operate in the 450GHz range of digital telecoms using IMT-MC technology.
