ZTE has bagged a broadband contract with China Telecom which will see it provide over one million lines of ADSL equipment. The deal follows two previous million-line ADSL deals signed in December 2003 and August 2004 with China s largest fixed-line operator. Meanwhile, the Hong Kong-listed arm of China Telecom has said it is looking for an international strategic partner to boost its global profile. Such a partner could "upgrade our corporate image," according to chairman Wang Xiaochu.
