ZTE to build national transmission network for Kenya

Write: Kadee [2011-05-20]

ZTE has reached an agreement with the government of Kenya to help construct a network covering the western part of the country. The contract is for a large-scale optical transmission backbone, which is expected to bolster Kenya's business communication infrastructure. The Kenyan government will be deploying a combination of ZTE's Unitrans Series WDM, ZXWM M900 equipment and ZXMP S385, the new generation of MSTP device to construct the network.

ZTE's ZXWM M900 System is a large-capacity, ultra-long-haul WDM equipment that allows multi-services access, and provides large-capacity and comprehensive transmission and network maintainability. The WDM technology is capable of supporting up to 400Gbps and can be upgraded to 1600Gbps. Upon completion, the national network project is expected to enhance the transmission capacity of Kenya's telecommunications industry, providing a high-speed, large capacity optical fiber transmission channel.
