ZTE's DSLAM slashes Carbon Footprint, Power Costs

As consumers today realize the need to protect environment, companies too are forced to realize their responsibilities towards the environment and therefore there is a visible surge in companies rolling out more and more eco-friendly products. The newest to join the bandwagon is ZTE Corporation.

ZTE, a premier provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, today stated that its Green Innovation Award winner Broadband Universal Access System can help operators reduce their carbon footprint and cut power costs.
According to the company on equipping its DSLAM ZXDSL FSAP 9806H with a passive optical network (PON) uplink card, it can enable broadband operators to cut down on power consumption and its carbon footprint.

"Operators are becoming increasingly aware of their responsibility towards the environment. ZTE's DSLAM solution enables broadband providers to radically reduce their carbon footprint and has recently been recognized as the Best Green Innovation' at the Convergence World Awards,"said Zhang Xinyu, director, global market, fixed network management team, ZTE on Broadband Universal Access System.
ZTE's DSLAM solution abides by the European code of conduct on energy consumption for broadband equipment's from a power consumption point offering a significant power consumption savings per port.
