ZTE Demonstrates High-Speed LTE-Advanced System

ZTE, a provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, demonstrated its high-speed long-term evolution () advanced system at the P&T/Expo Comm China in Beijing. The company demonstrated a downlink peak rate of more than 1 Gbps delivered by 4G technology for the first time.

Known as the 4G technology, LTE-advanced introduces carrier aggregation, enhanced antenna, relay, Coordinated Multi-point Tx/Rx and other key technologies. Through this demonstration, proved it holds a leading position in these technologies.

Estimates say that by 2012, LTE-advanced based ZTE base stations will be available around the world to meet growing communication needs.

In a press release, Li Jian, president of ZTE CDMA&LTE Production Line, said, ZTE is committed to pushing LTE & 4G technology and industry development, we dedicate to provide competitive, customized mobile broadband solutions to our customers and help them succeed.

Research firm, , released a series of reports on commercial LTE products of global mainstream LTE vendors in September 2010. It ranked ZTE among top vendors in terms of its SDR-based LTE eNodeB series because of its powerful performance, better scalability and multi-mode supporting ability.

ZTE Corporation has almost 4,000 engineers who are dedicated to this work and who have been continuously investing in LTE and technical evolution.

According to company officials, ZTE had applied for more than 2,600 LTE/SAE patents and submitted 5,400 proposals to the 3GPP as of the first half of 2010.

The company delivers innovative, custom-made products and services to over 500 operators in more than 140 countries. This helps them meet the changing needs of their customers while achieving continued revenue growth.

The revenue of ZTE in 2009 led the industry with a 36 percent increase to $8,820.7 million, company sources said. ZTE commits 10 percent of its revenue to research and development. Thus takes a leading role in a wide range of international bodies developing emerging telecoms standards.

Last September, ZTE won a contract to supply Wireless Code Division Multiple Access wireless equipments to VIBO Telecom, a subsidiary of the Taiwan Kinpo-Compal Group, TMCnet reported.
