August 28, in Shanxi Province key energy conservation projects promotion-cum-summary awards meeting, TISCO was awarded Shanxi Province Energy Conservation Work Special Prize for two consecutive years.
In recent years, TISCO establishes the concept of harmonious development between steel plant and the city, relying on technological innovation and management innovation, strives to build demonstration plants of energy-saving, emission reduction and circular economy in metallurgical industry. From 2000 to 2008, TISCO has invested 4.8 billion Yuan, implemented 92 energy-saving, emission-reduction projects at a high starting level as coke oven CDQ, blast furnace TRT, CCPP, etc., which increased the level of the nature of energy-saving and emission-reducing. TISCO also aims at world-class level, deepens into the standard comparing work for energy-saving, overall strengthens energy conservation supervision and evaluation, enhances energy-saving awareness of all staff and operating efficiency of full range of energy-saving equipment, as well as company-wide energy-saving management level, so as to build energy-saving emissions ensuring system by management and innovation. In 2008 compared with 2000, TISCO comprehensive energy consumption per ton steel decreased 46%, fresh water consumption per ton steel decreased 85%. In the first half of this year, indicators of comprehensive energy consumption per ton of steel , per ton steel fresh water consumption are among the highest in the industry. From 2006 to 2008, TISCO saved energy of 990.7 thousand tons of standard coal, completed two years ahead of energy saving goals of Eleventh-Five-Year Plan issued by Shanxi Province and TaiYuan City. At the same time, TISCO energy-saving technological advances have benefited the city, the first factory waste heat pipeline network was established supplying heat to the dormitory area, solve living heat problem for hundreds of thousands of workers and their families, lighten the pressure on TaiYuan central heating system. TISCO s recovered gas is also introduced into TaiYuan civil gas network, and plays an important role in some special time section.
From 2009 to 2012, TISCO shall invest a further 4.8 billion Yuan to complete 33 key energy-saving , emission-reducing and recycling economy projects, try to build TISCO into the demonstration plants of energy-saving , emission-reducing and recycling economy in metallurgical industry as soon as possible.
