With the effort of SBU, TISCO successfully realized batch production of stainless steel plate for container and can container, i.e. PTG316L cold-rolled plate, with 1500-2000mm width, which is used in China International Marine Containers (Group) Ltd. All indexes approved to meet customers requirements. TISCO, the biggest supplier of stainless steel cold-rolled plate for cold container in the world, became the first and the only stainless steel plate supplier for can container in China.
Because Chinese economy has been growing fast and global manufacturing industry has transferred to China, China has been becoming global process and trade center. Fast increasing of China s foreign trade brought fast increasing of handling capacity of port container, with a rate of 25% round in recent ten years, which is much higher than that of other ports in the world. Being the country with the biggest handling capacity of port container in the world, China is now growing to be a country which demands containers mostly.
There are mainly two types of a series of products of stainless steel container according to the structure: traditional box container and can container. Traditional box container is referred to cold storage container, which is used for transporting freezing food. Can container belongs to pressure vessel, which is used for transporting dangerous goods such as chemicals, and etc.
With the effort of sales representatives and technicians, using its wide cold-rolled mill, TISCO successfully produced high-strength cold-rolled stainless steel plate with thickness more than 3mm and width more than 1500mm for the can container customers, which made TISCO become the first and the only supplier of stainless steel plate for can container. Along the mill s stable production, TISCO can produce by batch the stainless steel for can container with good quality to replace current imported products.
At the same time, cold storage container plate produced by TISCO takes more than 60% market share. Most products, as substitute for imported material, are used by three world famous container companies such as China International Marine Containers (Group) Ltd., Singamas Container Holdings Limited, and Maersk Container Industry. At present, TISCO is the biggest supplier for stainless steel cold-rolled plate for cold storage container in the world.
