Guided by the State Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Civil Affairs, and SASAC, sponsored by China Federation of Industrial Economics, "2009 China Industrial and Financial Enterprise Social Responsibility Release Conference" was held on the morning of May 26, in the Great Hall of People in Beijing. At the meeting, eight units including TISCO delivered a speech.
"STSS 2008 Sustainability Report" is the first sustainable development report released by Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. Guided by the sense to reach the satisfaction from related parties of the government, users, investors, suppliers, employees, communities and society, the Report released completely the comprehensive achievements over economy, environment and society by implementing the strategy of sustainable development, all-around displayed the company's commitment to create a "satisfactory processing plant" , fully reflected the efforts in the company's pursuit of "green TISCO, harmonious TISCO, science and technology TISCO", and fully demonstrated the style of China's stainless steel capital.
The report appraisal and assessment expert group organized by China Federation of Industrial Economics of TISCO stainless spoke highly of the report: In front of the crisis, STSS shifted from the business opportunities to business capability, created new demands, markets, products, services, and customers to gain competitive advantage, and provided a vivid case of social responsibility in the same industry. As the world's stainless steel company with largest production capacity, most advanced process, technology and equipments, most complete varieties and specifications, STSS born significant social responsibility, and its development caught more social community attention. STSS implemented the scientific concept of development, took the road of sustainable development, and actively carried out the responsibility to promote the development of the industry, consciously promoted energy-efficient emission reduction and environmental protection, realized friendly relations with urban and society, reached harmonious development, construction for the satisfaction of processing plant has attracted wide respects, achieved economic, social, and environmental harmony, and were with a certain value of social promotion.
Experts pointed out that " STSS 2008 Sustainability Report" had a complete and clear structure, rich and informative content, compiling process was evidence-based, compilation method was guaranteed, quality of reports is weighted, the review of the report was regulated, which provides a good model iron steel industry.
Concerning 10 industries from iron and steel, coal, machinery, petrochemicals, light industry, textiles, building materials, nonferrous metals, electric power, and mining, 19 companies and industry representatives released their 2008 annual social responsibility report at the conference. Xu Kuangdi, director of China Federation of Industrial Economics, China Academy of Engineering, Li Yizhong, Minister of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology attended the meeting and delivered an important speech. Leaders from relevant departments of Central Financial and Economic Leading Group, State Council Research Office, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Ministry of Commerce, State Environmental Protection Department, State Administration of Work Safety, China Federation of Trade Unions, State General Administration of Quality Supervision and Inspection and media representatives, a total of 200 more people attended the conference.
China's first social responsibility report centralized distribution platform, designed to organize the industrial enterprises and trade associations on a regular basis to compile and publish social responsibility reports, prompts a growing number of enterprises and industries commitment to their social responsibility to the society, to create an open and transparent self-restraint mechanism and social oversight mechanisms to enhance influence and reputation for China's corporate social responsibility.
