| A grand ceremony for the hot load trial run of the heavy plate rolling mill of Baosteel Co., Ltd. was held ceremoniously at 5:00 p.m. March 21. Xie Qihua, Liu Guosheng, Xu Lejiang, Ouyang Yingpeng, Ai Baojun and Zhao Kun--top management of Baosteel, relevant units and departments of Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. and representatives from the construction units attended the ceremony. Aiming at producing premium products with high efficiency and low cost, the 5-metre heavy plate rolling mill, which is the first of its kind in China, has adopt the most advanced technologies in the world. It will produce 200-odd steel grades along with the completion of the project, covering almost all varieties of the heavy steel products, satisfying the domestic market with large caliber pipeline steel, high strength ship building steel, high strength welding structural steel and boiler & pressure vessel steel.
