State Grid Corp of China plans to spend 12 billion yuan ($17.6 billion) by 2015 to expand its electricity network to supply households in southern Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
The investment will provide power to 173,000 households in Sandizhou, an area that has faced intermittent coverage, the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission said on Friday.
