Trade unionists from China and Chile met on Tuesday to exchange views and experiences on labor-related issues.

The Chinese visitors, led by Vice President of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions Xu Zhenhuan, also extended their sympathy for those Chileans who had suffered from the Feb. 27 massive earthquake and the ensuing tsunami.

Chilean Workers' Central Union President Arturo Martinez thanked the Chinese visitors for donating 30,000 U.S. dollars to his organization.

The donation will be used to repair the building of the trade union at Los Angeles in the Bio Bio region, which was destroyed by the megaquake.

"As we celebrate this year the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Chile, it is a good opportunity to improve the ties between our syndicate associations and exchange experiences," Xu Zhenhuan told his host.

The Chinese visitors also invited the Chilean trade unionists to participate in an international seminar to be held in China, to talk about the labor situation in Chile.
