Latest statistics from Alexa.com, an authoritative international organization monitoring and calculating the pageviews of websites, revealed that ICBC website (www.icbc.com.cn) entered the first 350 websites across the globe according to pageviews, with an average ranking at the 324th place in recent three months. ICBC website was the No.2 popular bank websites worldwide, just behind Bank of America, and ranked top far ahead of other bank websites in China according to pageviews.

Alexa.com is a global renowned third-party organization for websites pageviews monitoring. Usually staying on top of its statistical ranking list are portals, search engines, entertainment sites and websites of news, TV, media and broadcasting. Websites from service sectors were seldom found in the upper position of the list.

Yet, ICBC website, as a specialized websites mainly providing banking services, has been clicked by a continuously rising number of visitors. According to the internal statistics, the average daily click rate soared from 80,000 times in 2002 to 3.19 million times in 2006. Professionals related that the figures fully illustrated the fact that ICBC website has secured quite a number of active customers, who now frequently visit the site for information or using ICBC Internet Banking services.

The person in charge from ICBC E-banking Department stated that the increasing visits of ICBC website owed mostly to the rich financial information, fast and convenient Internet Banking services provided on the site. Currently, ICBC website is a major channel for ICBC to offer banking services to customers.

By the end of January 2006, ICBC Internet Banking has swept up to 15.43 million personal customers and 336,000 corporate customers. Just in January, its online trading volume already reached a staggering RMB 5.67 trillion. ICBC market shares dominated the skyline among all domestic Internet Banking.
