Recently, ICBC picked up the crown of "2005 Distinguished Member" in the Award Ceremony held by Shanghai Gold Exchange.
It is introduced that Shanghai Gold Exchange has cumulatively settled 906.42 tons of gold and 40.81 tons of platinum last year, with total amount of RMB 106.976 billion and RMB 9.867 billion respectively, where 65% of the trading volume and amount was conducted by the top 10 distinguished members. Currently, ICBC is trading gold on behalf of 129 customers, representing 11.
41% of the total customers in Gold Exchange Center, which keeps ICBC ahead of other-members. Meanwhile, ICBC still maintain its leading position in clearing and warehousing in Gold Exchange Center. The amount of fund that ICBC cleared on behalf last year went up to RMB 52.5 billion with 19,296 clearing transactions completed.
87 out of 128 members selected ICBC as the Clearing Bank, accounting for 68%. In warehousing services, 115 tons of gold were put into storage and 109 tons were out, 20 tons of platinum were put into storage and 20 tons were out.
This year, ICBC will continue to consolidate its business competitive edge, expand the trading activities and product variety in gold investment and enrich its personal gold investment financing product to promote further the healthy and sustainable growth of its gold business.
