Changsha has initiated the rapid disposal and claim mechanism for settling traffic accidents from March 10. Since then, 508 accidents have been handled at the rapid disposal & claim centers in five urban districts of Changsha. The disposal rate rose from below 10% before to over 50% now. Besides, the processing time from the acceptance of the case to settlement of claims is strictly limited to 15-20 minutes.
Upon the implementation of the new method, the car owners who are not willing to leave after accidents thus causing traffic gridlock will be fined 200 yuan. Now, the traffic jams caused by car scrapes have been significantly reduced.
As the traffic police said, The cars coming into the rapid disposal center will be taken as the first accident scene. And the full amount of claims will be offered for the car damage.
