May 18 is the 34th International Museum Day themed at museum being devoted to social harmony . The museum is located in the east of Yanshan Overpass, Jinan. After entering the museum, as a top attraction, the ceremony hall is 26.6m high and occupies an area of 3,000 square meters, which will become the biggest hall of Shandong Province. There are sixteen 1.8m diameter golden columns supporting the hall, and every column is decorated with copper relievo. It is reported that the new museum will possess at least 22 exhibition halls, each of about 1,000 square meters. When the new museum is opened on June 10, 2010, many characteristic exhibitions will be on show including looking back on the 11th National Games , cultural relic exhibition on eight emperors , and Shandong embroidery .
In addition, it is learned from Shandong Administration of Cultural Heritage that there have been 115 free museum and memorial halls in Shandong, which accepted nearly 23 million people.
