Laughter, prizes and awards were as free-flowing last Saturday as the beverages at an afternoon tea party hosted by the Foreign Taxation Division of the Xiamen Local Taxation Bureau. Jointly organized by Common Talk Weekly and held at the Marco Polo hotel, the event was an effort to share opinions on domestic and foreign taxation issues and raise awareness of the services the Foreign Taxation Division offers to foreigners.
Lin Jinfeng, the Vice President of the Foreign Taxation Division, enthusiastically shared information about China s tax system. He called up five volunteers, both foreign and Chinese, who had been especially effective at promoting the foreign taxation acknowledge.
After the ceremony honoring their efforts, each volunteer spoke of their experiences with taxation, reflecting on the tax systems in their native countries and on their ability to empower individuals with information about the Chinese system.
A brief quiz show concluded the event and allowed audience members to earn prizes for answering questions correctly about China s policies on the taxation of foreign citizens. From http://www.common-talk.com
