In the coming three years, a vast transportation network will three be formed with three railways and four expresses passing through the area.
Three railways: Xi'an-Nanjing Road (open to traffic already),Shanghai-Wuhan-Chongqing Road(being built),Fuyang-Lu'an (to be built by the end of 2007r);
Four expresses:Shanghai-Xi'an(open to traffic 2007r), Hefei-Wuhan, Jinan-Guangzhou, Hefei-Fuyang(open to traffic 2008).
Lu'an is 70 kilometers away from Hefei Luogang Airport and only 50 miles from New Bridge International Airport which is under construction. Therefore it is named by the Ministry of Communications as a key transportation city at the national level.
