Dyke breach repair under way in Anhui

Tongcheng city was hit by a heavy rainstorm on July 11, causing dyke breaches on the Dasha River that threatened residents' safety. Nearly 300 soldiers rushed to the site to repair breaches.

Persistent rain since July 8 has affected 115,000 people in the county, inundating 450,000 hectares of farmland, damaging 365 houses and causing direct economic losses of 117 million yuan.
