Catalonia Government President Visits Anhui

Governor Wang Sanyun met with Jos Montilla, President of Catalonia government of Spain, at Doxianglou Hotel of Hefei, Sep.1. Vice governor Tang Chengpei and General Secretary of government Liang Weiguo attended the meeting.

As Spain s most economically developed community, Catalonia is the central region for foreign trade and foreign investment. The main purpose of the visit is to cooperate with Chery Auto Company headquartered in Wuhu city of Anhui Province.

Governor Wang welcomes Jos Montilla s visit and briefly introduced Anhui s economic and social situation. Anhui has a close economic and trade relationship with Spain and pays great attention to the exchange and cooperation with Catalonia autonomous community. Anhui Province is now facing an important stage in accelerating the industrialization and urbanization. Opportunities of the demonstration zone for industrial relocation into Wanjiang cities (cities along the Yangtze River in Anhui) and the comprehensive independent innovation test area in cities of Hefei, Wuhu and Bengbu have provided key strategic support to further advance Anhui and accelerate its rise.

Chery Auto Company, the banner of China s independent innovation, has been invited by Catalonia autonomous community to build a factory there and enjoy land and tax preference.

Governor Wang believes the invitation will strengthen the bilateral trade and deepen the relationships. He hopes there will be wider cooperation in tourism and biomedical industry and will give efforts to achieve mutual benefit and win-win.
