Statistics from Zhejiang Provincial Department of Civil Affairs shows that guarantee level for people living on minimum subsistence allowance in Zhejiang has been further upgraded this year, with an average per-capita compensation of no less than 50% of the local standard for people living on minimum subsistence allowance in counties (county-level cities and districts).
According to the person in charge of the social assistance section of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, up to the end of September 2010, the total number of people living on minimum subsistence allowance was 701,500, with a monthly allowance of 366.63 yuan and a monthly compensation of 248.2 yuan for people in urban areas, a monthly allowance of 236.5 yuan and a monthly compensation of 142.6 yuan for people in rural areas.
It is learned that up to the beginning of this year, in the 11 cities in Zhejiang, matching fund for minimum subsistence allowance at the village (residential district) level had been cancelled in 1,450 villages (residential districts) of the 90 counties (county-level cities and districts). The fund is provided by financial departments at or above the county level.
