Studying low carbon development concepts to show city features

Managing daily life discharges, building eco-friendly and energy saving communities, optimizing energy management, car sharing cases a variety of low carbon cases in Expo s Urban Best Practices Area inspired Jiangyin city a lot on future development. On July 26th, Zhu Minyang, member of Municipal Party Standing Committee and Party Secretary of Jiangyin led leaders in relevant organizations, development zone, new harbor city and towns came to Expo Park on purpose of inspecting the development profile of low carbon city. Zhu pointed out on the seminar of learning low carbon city in Jiangyin that all city levels should work on the goal of developing low carbon city, focus on attracting low carbon, ecology, eco-friendly environment concepts, take advanced and effective measures on the path of developing low carbon city with local features and create new advantages. Gao Pei, member of Municipal Party Standing Committee and Executive Deputy Mayor , attended and presided over the meeting .

In Expo Park, the delegation led by Zhu inspected rubbish classification management in Taibei, intelligent Life in Hongkong, park building and re-constructed in rubbish place in Montreal, transportation management in Roa Region, low carbon life cases in Madrid, zero carbon cases in London, Ecology Family in Shanghai, bicycle transportation cases in Odense, all these advanced concepts in developing low carbon city made visitors open-minded.

Zhu pointed out that the best practice areas in Expo Park inspired us a lot physically and mentally, furthermore, it strengthened our confidence on movement. These cases not only have some vision, but also become reality. Zhu stressed that on the path of developing twelfth Five Year Project , we should highlight city features, create new city strengths, and clarify the development orientation of future city, which all required leaders work with open-minded and advanced management methods.

Zhu stressed that on the road of exploring low carbon city, all city levels and organizations should arm with wise minds. During the twelfth Five Year Project , Jiangyin should work on the goal of realizing modernization, while city management and construction should proceed with the goal of modernization. The goal of Five People and Five Good in happy Jiangyin construction were to let pubic enjoy happy life, represent more in modernization and internationalization, highlight Vision in worldwide with Jiangyin features in ecology, eco-friendly environment, and culture fields. On the base of going after the double volumes of total economic revenue, we should integrate the Soft and Hard indexes in economy, walk on the road of ecology city, realize high-effective economy, fair society and sustainable development. Besides, it should regard low carbon city development as the important path of high value of twelfth Fiver Year Project , strengthen the concepts of ecology resources with big capital, and optimize city development by promoting non-developed areas.

Zhu pointed out that we should reach effective results in the road of exploring low carbon city. Twelfth Five Year Project should highlight low carbon concepts, grasp time, work on city overall plan and layout, and explore feasible developing road in low carbon city with Jiangyin features. Central communities, like Yunting, Nanzha, Xiagang, should rapidly confirm the city function in accordance with requirement of low carbon city; people in non-developed areas should change minds, actively proceed ecology re-building and industrial transformation; non-developed areas should create demonstration areas of new emerging strategic industries in terms of requirements of new science and technology city; new harbor city should pace on interactive development between low carbon industries and low carbon communities; make study on A block of city layout , promote low carbon concepts from demonstrated areas, Shang Island should pace on steps by this opportunity, Shanwan should devote to building practices area of low carbon city.

Zhu required that we should make strong and effective measures in the path of exploring low carbon city. All city levels and organizations should focus on work, motivate improve working requirement, proceed city construction with perfect goals; be good at taking advantage of talents and supports, not only pay attention to city plan ,but also focus on city design; make study on city management by system and mechanism , which needed tobuild well and manage well; we should pace on work progress and low carbon education plan, which inspired public deeply; we should further study the advanced experiences in developing low carbon city, promote low carbon concepts in implementing city construction with real examples and skills.

At the meeting, all attendees integrating inspection situation, expressed that they would highlight low carbon concepts in next phase, explore overall situation from plan to practices, represent city features and create new strengths of city development.
