Transformation: to build "Happy Jiangyin" with a world vision

On the afternoon of March 22nd, the 1st Awarding Ceremony for the Top 10 Landmarks of Jiangyin was held grandly in the beautiful valley of Yu Mountain. Over 10 celebrated guests, including world famous architects, experts in environmental design and color, and officials of UN, were invited to be presenters and share new concept of urban development. The splendid and grand ceremony was not only a distinguished meeting, but also an opportunity for Jiangyin to push forward transformational development.

In recent years, Jiangyin has been famous for its titles, such as "The National Ecological Cities", "The International Awards for Livable Communities", "The National Top Cities with Economic Charm", "The Top 10 Harmonious Cities of China" and "The National Advanced Demonstration Zone for Sustainable Development". Especially, the contest for "The International Awards for Livable Communities" in 2008 provided a challenging opportunity for Jiangyin to further optimize its advantages on environment, ecology and culture. Dr. William Neil Brown, General Counsel of China for "The International Awards for Livable Communities", Winner of China's National Friendship Award and Doctor of Management School of Wilton University, fully appreciated Jiangyin s wise decision to promote the harmonious development of economy and environment. He also hoped that Jiangyin will build more public facilities for entertainment and propose green public transportation to be a runner of "The International Awards for Livable Communities".
