Bright LED aims for NT$400 million in December revenues

LED chip packaging house Bright LED Electronics expects December 2010 revenues to reach NT$400 million US$13.5 million and up to NT$5.1 billion for the year, increasing 20% from 2009 thanks to stronger shipments for LED TV backlight applications.

For LED lighting devices, Bright LED is projected to ship 25,000 units for 2010 and about 50,000 units in 2011. The company has opened ten sales outlets for LED lighting devices, and will introduce new commercial lighting products soon. LED lighting will account for 8-10% of Bright LED's revenues in 2010 and more than 20% in 2011, according to market watchers.

The Taiwan-based company could see overall revenues jump another 30% on year in 2011 on the strength of China's LED lighting market and rising shipments for TV backlight applications, the market watchers said.
