South Korea s Asiana Airlines has ordered six A380 aircrafts and plans to use them on key routes to Europe and the US. The delivery of the aircrafts will begin in 2014. The A380 can seat 525-passengers and can travel 15,300-kilometres nonstop at 8,300-nautical miles.
Yoon Young-Doo, president and CEO, Asiana Airlines, was quoted in Travel Daily Asia as having said that with the A380s, Asiana will be able to take its award-winning service to a new level. The aircraft is also believed to be more fuel efficient and will help reduce the carrier s carbon footprint. The use of A380s is part of Asiana s efforts to operate one of the more modern and eco-friendly fleets in the world.
