Zeng Yinquan, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region held talks with Governor Liu Weiping in Hong Kong on February 17th, 2011.
Liu expressed appreciation for Hong Kong s efforts to support Gansu s reconstruction after 5 12 earthquake in 2008 and debris flow in Zhouqu last year. Hong Kong has donated 116 million Hong Kong dollars to assist disaster relief and reconstruction in Gansu which built up the confidence of Gansu people to start over and rebuild their homeland. He also expressed the willingness to enhance cooperation in other fields with Hong Kong government.
Gansu has a great potential in solar energy and wind energy using and research. Gansu is also well known by its abundant Chinese traditional medicine raw materials and its culture heritage, Zeng said. Hong Kong has some good experience to share with Gansu on trade and financial market management. He hoped the two sides would find more opportunities to enhance cooperation in the future.
