China (Guangdong)-Russia Business Conference 2010 was held in President Hotel in Moscow yesterday. Secretary of CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee Wang Yang and Vice Prime Minister of Russia Zhirkov attended the conference and addressed a speech. Over 1200 attendants from governments, famous chambers of commerce, international companies of both sides signed a number of contracts valued 1.56 billion dollars.
Wang Yang said that new progress in China-Russia relationship had been made in recent years. Guangdong was expecting to work with the Russian government and friends from the business sector to further enhance the exchange and cooperation in the fields of science and technology, education, culture, social development and so on.
Zhirkov expressed his hope to continuously hold such kind of economic conference in the future and set up a regular, pragmatic and effective mechanism to enhance the cooperation in such field as exhibition, culture, education and tourism. Zhirkov also invited Guangdong enterprises to set up factories in Russia and strengthen cooperation on aviation and shipbuilding.
Signing ceremony and investing consultancy were also held during the conference. Over 190 companies from Guangdong had a face-to-face communication with their counterparts of Russia.
