The 7th China International Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) Fair and the China-Australia SME Fair were unveiled grandly yesterday morning in Guangzhou. The fair is expected to attract 100,000 exhibitors from home and abroad seeking for new opportunities in the context of a global industrial upgrading.
More than 250 Australian small and medium-sized companies have registered for the event, representing the nation's largest-ever overseas trade presence. Last year, Australia s two-way trade with China topped 85 billion Australia dollars, accounting for 17% of the country s total foreign trade, thus turning China into the biggest trading partner of Australia. Still the bilateral trade needs to be diversified and strengthened, and China s enterprises are encouraged to go on with their investment in Australia.
More than 3800 SMEs from 36 countries and regions participated in the fair. With 5328 exhibition booths and the exhibition area exceeding 100,000 square meters, the fair set up Europe Pavilion, Guangdong Private Enterprises Pavilion, and International Creative Industry Pavilion. The fair features green, low-carbon, creation and innovation, aiming to develop useful ideas for SMEs to adapt themselves to the challenging market environment.
