Kim Jang-hwan, Consul-General of the Republic of Korea in Guangzhou and Jiang Zhufu, President of the Guangdong International Engineering Consultant Corporation signed an agreement on September 8 signaling the beginning of construction of the Korean consular premise in Chigang District in Guangzhou. The Republic of Korea Consulate General in Guangzhou is the second consulate to build a consular premise in Chigang after Thailand. According to the land use agreement signed last year, the Republic of Korea will receive a plot of 4,000 square meters to build its new premise. There are currently 37 consulate generals in Guangzhou and the Chigang Consulate District contains 18 land plots for consular premise construction.
