The 16th Asian Para Games opens on December, 12 with 631 athletes vying for gold medals. The Chinese delegation was unveiled on December 5 and includes 192 athletes who took part in the Beijing Paralympics. Seventy-six of the athletes are title holders.

The wheelchair basketball team is different than the one that competed in the Beijing Paralympics. 33-year-old Chen Haijiang is now one of the oldest players and wants to end his sports career on a high note at the Para Asian Games.

"I don't want to have any regrets after the match. I will try my best to have a good performance, said Chen Hai Jiang of the Chinese Wheelchair basketball team.

Xu Qing who won three golds in swimming at the 2008 Paralympics, began to resume training after taking two-months off to recover from inflammation in his ears. Xu, who lost his arms during a car accident in 1997, says his swimming brings him confidence.

"Swimming kept me from being depressed, said Xu. Now I am not afraid to take my coat off, to show my disabled arms. I feel that I am equal with the ordinary people," added Xu.

Xia Jiangbo, who lost the use of her legs from a debilitating disease, won the South Africa Swimming Championship and hopes to perform well in Guangzhou. "I want to change my life through swimming. So I must work hard," said Xia.
